City of Tuscaloosa to Hold Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day May 17

Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The City of Tuscaloosa Environmental Services Department and Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa Inc. are sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to noon.This free drop-off event provides the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous materials to keep citizens and local communities healthy and clean, and is open to Tuscaloosa County and City of Tuscaloosa residents only. No materials from businesses will be accepted.It will be held across from ESD at the City of Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Services Training and Logistics building located at 3311 Kauloosa Avenue.Household hazardous waste is the discarded, unused or leftover portion of household products containing toxic chemicals. Some examples include household cleaners, bleach, gasoline, light bulbs and craft supplies.
