City of Tuscaloosa Seeks Public Input for HUD Resilience Grant

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The City of Tuscaloosa will host public workshops to identify community risks, vulnerable populations and remaining unmet needs as a result of the April 27, 2011 tornado. 

Participant input will be incorporated into the City’s application for the National Disaster Resilience Competitionmanaged by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The meetings are open to all members of the community and will last two hours:

  • Thursday, Jan. 29 - 1 p.m. at Alberta Baptist Church, 2210 University Blvd. E
  • Thursday, Jan. 29 - 5 p.m. at Rock Quarry Middle School, 2100 Rock Quarry Drive
  • Monday, Feb. 2 - 5 p.m. at Tuscaloosa City Hall Council Chambers, 2201 University Blvd.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 3 - 10 a.m. at Rosedale Court Apartments Community Center, 1021 Robert Glen Drive

The City will submit an application for the first phase of the competition before March 15.
