City of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox has appointed Chuck Crocker as the director of information technology and Carly Standridge as the internal auditor.“Both Chuck and Carly are the ideal candidates for their respective positions,” Maddox said. “I look forward to continuing to work with them and seeing how they advance the City.”Crocker started working for the City of Tuscaloosa in 1989 as a planner in the Department of Community Planning and Development. In 1995 he transferred to the Department of Information Technology as a system administrator and was named associate IT director in 2003.He is president of the Alabama chapter of Government Management Information Sciences, and he was named professional of the year in 2002 and received the President's Award in 1997 by the organization.Crocker received a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in 1987 and received the Certified Government Chief Information Officer certification from the University of North Carolina in 2008.Standridge began working for the City following the April 27, 2011 tornado as the accounting manager for disaster recovery. A year later, she transferred to the Office of Federal Programs as the financial manager. Before joining the City of Tuscaloosa staff, she worked for the accounting firms JamisonMoneyFarmer and Cade, Crenshaw & Associates.She is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Standridge received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from the University of Alabama.
