SWJ Technology to Break Ground on New Headquarters in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL - On Friday, November 8 at 10 a.m., SWJ Technology will break ground on their new headquarters located at 2730 University Blvd. in Tuscaloosa.Wolfgang Kneer, CEO of SWJ Technoloy; Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox; and Councilman Kip Tyner will speak during the ceremony.

SWJ Technology, formerly known as SWJ-Breilmann, is a German engineering, planning and project management services company. Earlier this year, the company was awarded a federal grant through the City’s Innovate Tuscaloosa program to move their headquarters to Tuscaloosa.

Innovate Tuscaloosa was created to encourage economic development, create moderate income jobs, encourage business development and expansion, and stimulate private investment in the area of town recovering from the 2011 tornado.

Kneer says the Innovate Tuscaloosa grant was a major factor in SWJ Technology choosing Tuscaloosa over Chattanooga, Tennessee or Greenville, South Carolina as the central hub of its U.S. and Mexican operations.

The headquarters will be located adjacent to the Alberta School of Performing arts and the Gateway Innovation and Discovery Center.
