As of tomorrow (July 16) at 5 p.m., the City of Tuscaloosa will follow the State Health Director's emergency order regarding face coverings.
City of Tuscaloosa Face Coverings Ordinance
On June 30 the Tuscaloosa City Council voted unanimously to adopt an ordinance requiring face coverings to be worn while interacting in public places in the City of Tuscaloosa. This order will take effect on Monday, July 6, and be in effect until Wednesday, August 5.
The order requires face coverings that cover the nose and mouth to be worn in businesses or venues open to the general public, transportation services available to the general public, and outdoor areas open to the public where ten or more people are gathered and unable to maintain six feet of distance between each person.
