Tuscaloosa's Mayor Maddox Names Moore, Tubbs as New Executive Directors in Structural Reorganization

City of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox has appointed Brendan Moore as the executive director of urban development and Tera Tubbs as the executive director of infrastructure and public services, effective Monday, Feb. 15.

“Tera and Brendan are proven leaders for the City of Tuscaloosa,” Maddox said. “With their energy and expertise, they will help guide us in becoming the most innovative and effectively-managed city in the United States.”

As executive director of urban development, Moore will oversee all urban planning, development services and economic development activities.

As executive director of infrastructure and public services, Tubbs will oversee all public service and infrastructure activities including engineering, transportation, water and sewer, environmental services and facilities maintenance.

Both will determine the respective overall departmental structures, as part of Maddox’s reorganization designed simplify and integrate government, maximize resources and cut red tape

Moore, who has been with the City since 2008, has served as the director of economic development since 2013. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama.

Tubbs has served as director of the Department of Transportation since 2007. She is a registered professional engineer and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Alabama.
