Tuscaloosa to Abide by State Health Officer's Amended "Safer at Home" Order

Effective May 11, 2020, the City of Tuscaloosa will abide by the State Health Officer’s Amended “Safer at Home” Order as issued on May 8, 2020.
Mayor Maddox has repealed his Executive Order issued on April 28 adopting the Reopen Tuscaloosa plan. The City will now defer to the State Health Officer’s phased reopening while continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. The City will announce a plan for City Hall operations next week.
“The City cannot protect an individual from contracting COVID-19, but we can all take steps to protect our health care system”, said Mayor Maddox. “We encourage every member in our community to follow all guidelines from the CDC and ADPH.”
