COVID-19: Tuscaloosa City Employee Update 4.2.2020

Team,

The City of Tuscaloosa has expanded upon The Family Medical Leave Act by adding Public Health Emergency Leave as a qualifying need for leave. This will apply to any employee of the City that has been employed for thirty days or longer. This will be effective until terminated by the Mayor or the ending of the Declaration of Emergency related to COVID-19. For the full memorandum please visit Tuscaloosa.com/staff-covid19

We are asking all employees that believe that they have been exposed to COVID-19 (regardless of level of exposure), and are tested, to report the incident to their supervisor and Covid-19HR@tuscaloosa.com.

Additionally, employees that are currently enrolled in the flexible spending dependent care reimbursement account will be allowed to update their election amount if needed due to the closure of daycare facilities as a result of COVID-19.  Those employees that wish to update their election should complete a life event in SmartBen.  https://tuscaloosa.smartben.net/
