Tuscaloosa Regional Airport (TCL)

The Tuscaloosa Regional Airport has played an important role throughout the history of Tuscaloosa. Acquired by the City of Tuscaloosa at the end of World War II, the airport continues to be a vital part of the city's growth. Though Tuscaloosa Regional Airport no longer has commercial air service, it remains a general aviation airport with nearly 60,000 operations each year. The airport serves at least ten surrounding counties  as well as the University of Alabama and Mercedes-Benz.

The Airport is maintained by a three-man grounds crew. Two tractors maintain 724 acres of grass, cut to FAA specifications, while the one mower performs the intricate task of cutting around the airfield's over 500 lights and 125 signs.
