City of Tuscaloosa's Holidays on the River Returns to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater

The City of Tuscaloosa’s Holidays on the River event will return on Wednesday, Nov. 21 to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. Tickets are now on sale for the season, which will run through Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.

Holidays on the River features ice skating, carriage rides and visits from Santa. New this year, the Very Merry Market will be open Dec. 15 and 22 and will feature vendor booths, allowing guests to shop local for the holidays.

On Dec. 31, the venue will host New Year’s on Ice to ring in 2019 and kick-off the Tuscaloosa Bicentennial celebration with fireworks provided by the Bicentennial Commission.

“I look forward to kicking off such a historic milestone as a community,” Mayor Walt Maddox said. “Holidays on the River has become a local tradition that brings together family and friends. It only makes sense that it’s the starting point of the Tuscaloosa Bicentennial celebrations.”

Admission to Holidays on the River at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is free for all guests, but guests must purchase skate pass tickets for skate rental and access to the ice rink. Skate passes are $15 per person and include skate rental and admission to the rink for the day. Season passes are $85 and include skate rental and unlimited skating for the 2018-2019 winter season. The City also offers birthday and corporate party rental packages.
