Prior to his time with the City, Gardiner worked with McGiffert and Associates, LLC as a project manager.

“Mike follows in the footsteps of leaders such as Woolsey Finnell, Joe Robinson and David Griffin,” Mayor Walt Maddox said. “The Office of the City Engineer designs Tuscaloosa’s future, and I believe that Mike is the right leader at the right moment for our community.”

Gardiner holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology from the University of Alabama. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor, and is a member of the American Society of Engineers and the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
