Thank you to our ESD Crews!

Thank you to our ESD Crews!

In 2023, the City’s Environmental Services Department (ESD) paved the way towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow. We are pleased to share a few of the impressive statistics from the year:

  - Disposed of 20,537 tons of garbage and 96,344 yards of trash
  - Recycled 1,775,200 pounds, including:

  • 50 bales of aluminum cans
  • 26 bales of steel cans
  • 638 bales of plastics
  • 260 tons of glass
  • 1,120 bales of cardboard
A significant statistic is the decrease of 825 tons of garbage from 2022, due to the City’s improved recycling initiatives. To put this in perspective, that's equivalent to the weight of over four blue whales of recyclable items that were diverted from the landfill!

The City’s ESD crews work day in and day out in all imaginable weather conditions and their dedication is truly commendable. We are so grateful for all that they do.
