The word “imagine” is one of my favorite words in the English language.
It resonates hope and shapes a future of what is possible, especially when matched with purpose, planning and perseverance.
Albert Einstein said, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. Imagination is everything. It is the preview for life’s coming attractions.”
I still believe in the power to imagine and its ability ignite a shared vision that can truly make a difference.
With hope on the horizon, and a decade of opportunity in front of us, let us believe what is possible.
Imagine a city where every corner is safe with the best trained and best equipped police officers and firefighters in the Nation.
Let us imagine a City that seizes this decade to expand rapidly into the fields of knowledge and technology based jobs.
Let us imagine a city where our partnership with the Tuscaloosa City Schools provides all students the opportunity to either be career and/or college ready.
Let us imagine a city where we continue the needed infrastructure, experience and recreational investments that lifts our underserved communities and improves our quality of life.
Let us imagine a city that uses its unmatched financial strength to invest where there is a return on community with the highest standard of accountability.
Let us imagine City leaders that place results over rhetoric, while uniting behind the cause of what we are for instead of what we are against.
This is Tuscaloosa’s decade.
With hope on the horizon, let us imagine with all our minds, work together with all of our hearts, because the future is ours to shape.
May God bless you and may God continue to bless the City of Tuscaloosa.
