Mayor Maddox Extends Utility Non-Payment Grace Period to March 31

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the holiday season, Mayor Walt Maddox has amended an executive order to extend the non-payment grace period for city utilities. The amended order extends this grace period until March 31, 2021.
The order was issued due to the concern of COVID-19 and the implications to health and sanitation for citizens to be without working water, sewer, or garbage collection.
“I know that families have extra financial strain and stress this holiday season because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Maddox said. “In the spirit of the holiday season, I hope that we can alleviate this stress in a small way by extending this grace period into March.”
