Tuscaloosa’s Holidays on the River to Remain Closed for Remainder of Season
December 30, 2020
In an ongoing effort to protect the healthcare system and maintain essential City functions among rising COVID-19 community spread, the City’s skating rink at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater will remain closed for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
Holidays on the River was scheduled to be open from Nov. 22, 2020 until Jan. 18, 2021. It was originally postponed due to COVID-19 related staffing shortages on Dec. 3. As the COVID-19 community spread has continued to rise over the holidays, the City’s Incident Command team has made the decision not to reopen the rink this season.
Skate passes that have already been purchased will be refunded. Skate pass holders in need of a refund should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any private events that were scheduled to be held at the rink will be canceled and deposits will be refunded. The City’s events team will be reaching out to the contact for any private events.
