City of Tuscaloosa and Mayor Walt Maddox to Host 2023 Mayor's Cup

Tuscaloosa, AL – The City of Tuscaloosa and Mayor Walt Maddox will host the 2023 Mayor’s Cup 5K for Pre-K on Saturday, April 29 at 8 a.m. in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The Mayor’s Cup, presented by Mercedes-Benz U.S. International raises funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative, which aims to expand Pre-K access for Tuscaloosa children.
“Last year was a pivotal year for the Mayor's Cup, after returning for the first time in two years,” Mayor Walt Maddox said. “I'm excited to be back on track with this event while continuing to support children in the community.”
The 5K is open to all ages and participants are welcome to run or walk. Timing chips attached to race bibs will be used to determine race results, and awards will be given.
Registration for the race opens on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023. The registration fee is $15 until the end of February, $20 during the month of March, and $25 from April 1 to the day of the race (April 29).
