City of Tuscaloosa Breaks Ground on Fire Station 6

City of Tuscaloosa Breaks Ground on Fire Station 6

The City of Tuscaloosa held a groundbreaking for the new Fire Station 6 on Thursday, March 21 at 11 a.m.

Mayor Walt Maddox, Councilor John Faile and Fire Chief Randy Smith spoke during the ceremony.

“Fire Station 6 is going to mean so much to so many people in this area,” said Mayor Walt Maddox. “Fire stations serve for generations, and I have no doubt that this new facility will be equipped to do just that, and make sure that our fire department continues to operate at our standard of excellence.”

The new Fire Station 6 will be located at the intersection of Hargrove Rd E and Loop Rd.

“I’m so excited about this fire station and for these firefighters that now get to have their own home again,” said Councilor John Faile.

The new Fire Station 6 will replace a fire station that would have been 57 years old this year.

“This station will be huge not only for the department and the City, but for the community,” said Fire Chief Randy Smith. “It will allow us to increase our training space and serve as a resource for this community for many years to come.”

Fire Station 6 is expected to be complete by spring 2025.
