City of Tuscaloosa Finance Department Awarded the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for 37th Consecutive Year

The City of Tuscaloosa’s Finance Department has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 37th consecutive year from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2024.
This award was created to recognize individual governments who succeed in going beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports.
The City of Tuscaloosa first received this award in 1987 for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1986.
