How can I get a ride to the hospital?

If you need non-emergency transportation from your home to the hospital, there are several affordable options.

Tuscaloosa Transit Authority: The Tuscaloosa Transit Authority provides demand response vans to transport people living in the city limits of Tuscaloosa who have physical or mental disabilities. Vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Drivers will transport you to doctor’s appointments, the hospital, dialysis, shopping or wherever you wish to go. The service begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost is $2.00 each time you board. A caregiver may travel for free. The service is by appointment only. FOCUS on Senior Citizens of Tuscaloosa County: FOCUS transportation service transports residents age 60 and older to medical and social service appointments. If you use a wheelchair, a van with a lift is available. The service begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The requested donation for a round trip is $5.00. A caregiver may travel for free. This service is by appointment only. There is no application process.
