City of Tuscaloosa Environmental Services Begins Drop-Off Electronic Recycling Program

Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The City of Tuscaloosa Environmental Services Department began a drop-off electronic recycling program April 1. This free service is open to all West Alabama residents, government agencies, businesses, nonprofit organizations and schools. Electronics can be dropped off Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Richard A. Curry Environmental Services Complex located at 3440 Kauloosa Avenue. Electronics will not be accepted after-hours, on weekends, on City holidays, at drop-off recycling trailers or on curbside recycling routes. To drop-off recyclable electronics, participants must park in the designated parking spot in front of the Environmental Services Complex, enter the front door and inform the ESD office staff as to what type of electronics they intend to recycle. Citizenswill not need to bring the electronics inside with them. After checking in, ESD crews will then collect the recyclable electronics from the vehicle.
