City of Tuscaloosa Holds Groundbreaking for Springbrook Park
September 24, 2024
The City of Tuscaloosa held a groundbreaking for the new Springbrook Park on Tuesday, September 24 at 9 a.m.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox and Councilor Cassius Lanier spoke during the ceremony.
“When we passed Elevate, we had a very grand idea of what we wanted to do for Tuscaloosa, and the larger projects tend to get a higher profile,” Mayor Walt Maddox said. “But to the people of Springbrook, this is the heart of Elevate. We are so excited to break ground today on a project that will mean so much to so many people, not only now but for generations to come.”
Improvements to this neighborhood park will include a variety of amenities, lighting and security features. Among these are a new walking track, two new playgrounds and new covered seating areas.
"I'm proud of this project because of what it represents: community, family and a better quality of life," Councilor Cassius Lanier said. "The Springbrook neighborhood represents just that, and I can't think of a more deserving investment into District 7."
Construction on this Elevate Tuscaloosa project is expected to be completed by spring 2025. Learn more at elevatetuscaloosa.com.
