City of Tuscaloosa’s School Supplies for Parking Tickets Drive Collects over 1,000 Supplies for Tuscaloosa City Schools Students

On Tuesday, August 5, at the weekly City Council meeting, the City of Tuscaloosa presented Tuscaloosa City Schools with a school supply donation collected during the overtime parking tickets drive. In July and August, Tuscaloosa residents had the opportunity to pay off $19 overtime parking tickets with school supplies valued at $10.
Through this drive, the City of Tuscaloosa dismissed 249 overtime parking tickets. Residents donated a total of 1,087 supplies, an increase of more than 300 items from last year.
Tuscaloosa City Schools will distribute the donated supplies to local students in need. This marks the sixth year the City has hosted this drive.
