Tuscaloosa City Council Calls for District 5 Special Election

A Special Municipal Election for City Council District 5 will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2026 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Alberta Baptist Church (2210 University Boulevard East). Qualifying candidates will be able to file their intent from Tuesday, October 13, until Tuesday, October 27 at 5:00 p.m.
Absentee Voting Information
Absentee Voting will begin on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. in the City Clerk’s Office in person or by mail. Thursday, December 3, is the last day to apply for a regular absentee ballot.
- Citizens are required to complete an absentee ballot application prior to being issued a ballot.
- Absentee ballot applications can be obtained from the city clerk’s office, via mail or printed from the City of Tuscaloosa Elections website.
