Colonel Lee Busby is a retired U.S. Marine Infantry Officer and former financial investment manager. A lifelong Tuscaloosa resident, he attended the city’s public schools and earned a B.S. in Economics and International Finance from the University of Alabama. His military career is marked by numerous honors, including three Legions of Merit and a Bronze Star. He is a certified military parachutist and combat diver. Busby has four adult children who were educated in the Tuscaloosa City School system. First elected during the October 2019 special election, he was re-elected without opposition in both 2021 and 2025.
