directly adjacent to Lake Tuscaloosa
Expanding a residential driveway
Installing a Grease Removal Device
Sanitary or Storm Sewer expansions
Water Distribution System expansions
A Land Development Permit application may be required to be accompanied by:
Drawings stamped by a licensed engineer within the State of Alabama.
Copy of the deed to the subject property
Authorized Agent Form
Public Infrastructure Improvement - LDP Performance Bond
Public Infrastructure Improvement - LDP Maintenance Bond
Business License
Drainage Report

You will receive comments within 14 business days of application submittal.
If your property is located within a designated floodplain, a Land Development Permit (LDP) is
required prior to construction.

Yes, after approval, you have 18 months to begin work on your project. Otherwise, your permit will expire and you will be required to resubmit your documents for review.
Yes, if applicable. All required bonds must be properly submitted and paid in full prior to the issuance of the LDP. The permit will not be released until all bonding requirements have been satisfied.
If your development includes vertical construction, you will also need to submit a Commercial Building Permit Application. Additional permits or special approvals may be required.
