City of Tuscaloosa Accounting & Finance Department Wins Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Fourth Consecutive Year

The City of Tuscaloosa’s Accounting & Finance Department has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fourth consecutive year from the Government Finance Officers Association for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022.
This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, reflecting the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
To qualify for the award, the City of Tuscaloosa satisfied nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation to assess how well the budget serves as: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The City of Tuscaloosa also received this award in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
