West AlabamaWorks! Job Kiosk Now Available at Tuscaloosa Municipal Court

The City of Tuscaloosa and West AlabamaWorks have partnered to install a Career Connect Job Kiosk in the lobby of the City’s Municipal Court Building. The kiosk aims to provide valuable employment opportunities for individuals who are navigating court proceedings and are under- or unemployed.

“The goal of these kiosks is to meet people where they are, and allow them to apply for jobs instantly,” said Tonya Mills, Education and Employment Project Manager for West AlabamaWorks. “We have kiosks located in accessible locations around the West Alabama community, and we are proud to add one to the Municipal Court Lobby in Tuscaloosa.”

The kiosk gives users access to over 500 high-wage, high-demand jobs in the West Alabama area. Users can create a digital resume and submit applications instantly.

“One of the biggest problems we encounter is defendants who are unable to afford court fines,” said Municipal Court Judge Ricky J. McKinney. “This is a wonderful opportunity to be able to find a job, come back to court and get that case dismissed.”

West AlabamaWorks is a nonprofit organization created through a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and the Region 3 Workforce Development Council.  The organization facilitates and implements a workforce development system for a 9-county area in West Alabama.

The kiosk connects users directly to This site is also accessible on a computer or mobile device.

“We’re excited to have an opportunity to help people find employment if they’re struggling with it,” said Municipal Court Administrator Jessica Junkin Steward. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with West AlabamaWorks to make this possible.”
