The City of Tuscaloosa and Mayor Walt Maddox will host the 2026 Tuscaloosa Mayor’s Cup this Saturday, April 25 at 8 a.m. in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The Mayor’s Cup, presented by Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, raises funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative, which aims to expand Pre-K access for Tuscaloosa children.

The annual 5K has been held since 2007 and is open to all ages. Participants are welcome to run or walk. Timing chips attached to race bibs will be used to determine race results, and awards will be given.

In addition to the 5K, the Mayor's Cup is partnering with Temporary Emergency Services and Tuscaloosa City Schools to distribute tennis shoes to children in our community. Donation bins will be available at Government Plaza on April 25th accepting new and gently used tennis shoes. All sizes are welcome!
