City of Tuscaloosa to Receive Additional $4.1 Million from HUD
April 9, 2013
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded an additional $4.1 million in Community Development Block Grant funding to the City of Tuscaloosa. “This additional grant will help the City of Tuscaloosa continue its recovery and revitalization,” said Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox. “The resiliency of the people of Tuscaloosa has been impressive and inspirational. However, the City still has unmet needs, and this funding will go very far in helping fulfill those needs.” This additional funding supplements the more than $60.5 million already awarded to Tuscaloosa for disaster recovery, making the total the City of Tuscaloosa has received from HUD since April 27, 2011 almost $65 million.
